HCARS is a family of amateur radio operators dedicated to helping others. This is especially true during natural disasters or other emergencies. Many of our members are affiliated with ARES, RACES, and Skywarn. The club owns and maintains the 147.015 MHz repeater located near Belleville, Indiana. The club call sign is N9HC.

• Expenses for this month, was a donation from the club to the Hendricks County Senior Services Center for allowing us to use the building over the past years.

• Repeater intermittent interference problem was discussed. The club’s repeater needs a battery backup and surge protector. Erik will search for one to install.

• ARRL Indiana Section Manager election is this year. Deadline for petitions must be received at the ARRL Headquarters by 4pm on March 9th.

• Minutes from November and the Club’s Christmas dinner+ were read.

• Raddioddity has donated a brand new QB-25 FM mobile radio to HCARES to be used by the amateur radio operators for the Hendricks County Health Dept emergency drills/exercises and during emergencies/disasters. The radio w/AC power supply are contained inside a small tool box.

Meeting Notes: December 9, 2017

The annual HCARS Christmas dinner and election of officers for the year 2018 was held at the Hendricks County Senior Services Building in Danville, IN. Chicken, Mashed potatoes, Green beans, dessert, and drinks, were provided by the club. 36 total in attendance.

The dinner started at 6pm with the meeting at 6:07pm. Club President John Farmer called the meeting to order.

• Tom Hansen reported that the weeds at the repeater site does not need anything done for this period.

• Monthly hospital net on Oct. 21, 10:30am on 147.570 MHz.
• Next membership meeting will start back up next year. The meetings will take place quarterly instead of monthly.

• Expenses for this period was buying a spare projector bulb, ARRL insurance renewal, and to Erik Cohee for weed cleanup at the club’s repeater site.

Trustee Tech. Committee Report :
• Tom Hansen to observe the repeater site for weeds then report to the club.
• Paul Cowger to give the club a quote from a contractor for weed control at the repeater site.
