Meeting notes: August 8, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Club President John Farmer. There were 24 members and 5 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :Ron Burke
• Minutes from July were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :John Farmer

Trustee Tech. Committee Report :
• The repeater is working fine.
• Sprayed for weeds last week, will work on removing little tree stumps within the grounds.
• Working on to program the repeater soon.

ARES Report : Ron Burke
• A small group of HCARES members participated in Plainfield’s "Playn’field in the Park" event. We were asked by the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce to help them be their Severe Weather observer and oversee the crowd.
• Both Hendricks Regional and I.U.West hospital administration staff approved us to change the monthly hospital test net from a Thursday to a Saturday.

RACES Report : Bob Burns
• Thank you to those who have been involved in this year’s Hendricks County Weather Nets.

Old Business :
• Mike Rollins gave the club a report of this year’s Hilltop contest, which will be on September the 24th using the same hilltop site and the club is registered in with the event.
• No special program by the State Police at this time. This program was going to show what to do when you find an enclosed container that nobody claims.

New Business :
• The WX9HC repeater system has been modified. 444.575 MHz repeater is now an DMR repeater, the 145.130 is now a Fusion repeater.

Other Announcements :
• The Indiana Elmer Network will hold a VE testing in Avon at the Troop #306 building on October 15th.

Special Report :
• Our Newly elected Indiana Section Manager Brent Walls N9BA, stopped by the club to discuss some developments over the next couple of years. Brent also answered some questions from the members.

Meeting closed : At 8:30 pm Bob Thompson made a motion to close the meeting, which was seconded by Jay Wright.
