Meeting Notes: April 11, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by Club President John Farmer. There were 16 members and 7 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :Ron Burke
• Minutes from March were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :Wayne Fox
• Due to Wayne’s illness, President John Farmer will temporary take on the Treasurer’s job until further notice. No report for this month.

Trustee’s Report :
• The repeater is working fine.

ARES Report : Ron Burke
• Hospital net this month on 147.570 MHz 9:30am Thursday, April 21, 2016.
• Shared a presentation with the club to the Senior Services Center of giving a Certificate of Appreciation for the many years the center opened their facility for the training classes of both entities.
• NVIS event will be on April 23.

RACES Report : Bob Burns
• Thanks for those who attended the Severe Weather Spotter Training Class, and checked-in on the NWS Statewide Tornado Drill both morning and evening.

Old Business :
• In regards to a motion in March that was made and passed to donate money to the ARRL Education and Technology fund in the name of a non-member ham from the club was up for reconsideration by a motion made by Tom Hansen and was seconded by Willie Garrett and passed by the membership. After discussion, the original motion was cancelled.

New Business :
• The club will not have this year’s Field Day at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds. It will be held at the Avon United Methodist Church, 6850 U.S. 36 in Avon.
• Adrian Parsons special event station will be June 11 at Ellis Park in Danville, IN. Callsign will be K9W.
• The club will be looking for a new Trustee since the current Trustee is having health problems.
• The club had a work day at the repeater site. Those who came out that day were recognized by the club.
• Hilltop: This year’s event will be held in September.

Other Announcements :
• Old club pictures can be viewed by the membership at the club’s Yahoo site on the internet.
• QSO party will be May 7, will last 12 hours.
• A list of new callsigns were read to the club of the Technicians that passed and received their licenses this year from the ham training class that was sponsored by the club.

Meeting closed : At 9:01 pm Erik Cohee made a motion to close the meeting, which was seconded by Jay Wright.
