Meeting Notes: February 8, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm by Club Secretary Ron Burke. There were 22 members and 3 visitors in attendance.
*Club President John Farmer took over the chairing of the meeting after the reading of the Minutes.*

Secretary’s Report :Ron Burke
• Minutes from January with one amendment were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :Wayne Fox
• Monthly report was approved.

Trustee’s Report : Harold Davis
• The repeater is working fine.

ARES Report : Ron Burke
• Hospital net this month on 147.570 MHz 9:30am Thursday, February 18th.
• The county health sponsored Family Assistance Center Exercise will be February 27th. All hospital hams are encouraged to participate. We’ll be using both hospitals H.R.H, and I.U.West radio stations this year. This event will be our training exercise for the hospital hams this year. Chris Harrison will oversee the portable ham radio station at Danville H.S., Mike Rollins will oversee the radio station at H.R.H., and Bill Gouge will oversee the radio station at I.U.West.
• Net Control Operator class will be February 20th. Time will be 1-3pm. Location TBD.

RACES Report : Bob Burns
• IDHS RACES Test will be February 13th but will require limited participation from this county.
• March 19th the SKYWARN weather spotter training class will be at the Hendricks County Govt. Center. The time is from 1-3pm.
• The 2016 Central Indiana Severe Weather Symposium will be at Butler University on March 5th. More details: www.weather.gov/ind/2016cisws.

Old Business :
• Hamfest discussion of the time schedule at the money table, and some other items.
• The Adrian Parsons special event amateur radio station dates are May 28th and Jun 11th.

New Business :
• Ron Burke made a motion to present the Hendricks County Senior Services Center a Certificate of Appreciation and a one-time only check. Half of this check will be paid by HCARES. The motion was seconded by Bob Thompson. Motion was passed.
• Wayne Michael and Chris Harrison talked about Winter Field Day which was held in Hendricks County on Jan.30-31.

Special Report :
• Jason Jackson did a special presentation of Aviation Navigation.

Meeting closed : At 8:29 pm Jay Wright made a motion to close the meeting, which was seconded by Erik Cohee.
