Meeting Notes: November 9, 2015

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by President John Farmer. There were 24 members and 2 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :Ron Burke
• Minutes from October were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :Wayne Fox
• No expenses for the current month.

Trustee’s Report : Harold Davis
• The repeater is working fine.
• Made a “Hat” to cover the top of the repeater from a leaky roof. This hat is made out of aluminum.

ARES Report : Ron Burke
• No more hospital nets until the first of the year 2016.
• Our SET has been moved to November 19th. Hospital hams will be the only ARES group participating.
• ARES weekly net will be tomorrow night (Nov.10th) on 147.015 repeater at 7:30pm.
• Governor Pence has proclaimed next week, (Nov.15-21) to be Winter Weather Preparedness week.

RACES Report : Bob Burns
• Halloween Patrol this year had its usual mixture of boredom, and excitement.

Old Business :
• Hilltop list of results should be November 13th.
• The club’s hamfest will be February 13th at the American Legion in Brownsburg. Time will be on the 13th, 7a-3p.
• The Avon Robotic club has accepted the club’s donation.
• Club’s Christmas Dinner will be December 12th , 6-9p at the Senior Services Center. This dinner is free to paid up members of the club.

New Business :
• Club member Larry Evans suffered illness recently and the club opted to send a Get Well card to Larry.
• Veterans that attended the club meeting were recognized by the club for their service.
• Nominees for board officers of HCARS for next year, (2016) were discussed. Dave Leimenstoll made a motion to keep the current board officers on for next year was seconded by Dennis Gilbey. Motion passed.
• Chris Harrison made a motion for the club to take over the Annual Ham Training class testing, and the club reviews annually the VEC. Dave Leimenstoll seconded, motion passed.
• Dennis Gilbey made a motion that we use the ARRL for testing of the Annual Ham Training class for the year of 2016. Bob Burns seconded, motion passed.
• Tom Hansen made a motion that the club sponsored the Annual Ham Training classes. Wayne Michael seconded, motion passed.

Other Announcements :
• Starting next year, the ARRL will raise their dues to $49. Last raise in dues was back in 2001.
• At the club’s January meeting, the Avon Robotics will have a demonstration.

Meeting closed : At 8:31 pm Erik Cohee made a motion to close the meeting, which was seconded by Brian Dickerson.
