Meeting notes: April 13, 2015

The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by President John Farmer. There were 19 members and 8 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :Ron Burke
• Minutes from March were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :Wayne Fox
• Monthly expenses were reported.

Trustee’s Report :
• The repeater is working fine.

ARES Report : Ron Burke
• At the request of Hendricks Regional hospital, we participated in the F.A.C. exercise on March 14th. This exercise was sponsored by the county health dept. Two hams operated a portable ham station at the Danville Community High School where the F.A.C. was being held. The HRH hospital ham’s participated at the hospital passing health and welfare traffic to the hams at the high school.
• No Quaker Day Festival this year. However we have been asked by the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce to help them with the Quaker Day Parade.

RACES Report : Bob Burns
• Gordon Cotton read a statement from Bob as follows; thank you to everyone who pitched in with their reports during our severe weather events last week. Reports of hail, high wind, and heavy rain were taken and delivered to the National Weather Service by telephone.
• Last week’s weather is a reminder that the situation can change quickly in Central Indiana during the springtime months. We all need to stay aware of incoming weather conditions. The National Weather Service issues a Hazardous Weather Outlook at least twice a day, early morning and mid-afternoon, during active weather periods. These outlooks are a good summary of what’s coming and whether or not spotters should be prepared to activate.

Old Business :
• The Indiana QSO party will be May 2nd.
• Field Day discussion

New Business :
• Tom Hansen is in charge of HCARS eating utensils for Field Day.
• Jay Wright made a motion to have ten signs made for Field Day. This motion was seconded by Mark Sanders. Motion was passed.
• Dayton Hamvention discussion.
• Dennis Gilbey will be the club’s I.R.C.C. spokesperson. Dennis read of some changes that will be made by the I.R.C.C. starting this year.

Other Announcements :
• This Thursday will be the Hospital Net on 147.570 MHz at 9:30am.

Meeting closed : at 8:50 pm Bill McCleary made a motion to close the meeting, which was seconded by Dennis Gilbey
