Meeting notes: January 12, 2015

The meeting was called to order at 7:06pm by President John Farmer. There were 22 members and 7 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :Ron Burke
• Minutes from October, November, and HCARS dinner were approved.

Treasurer’s Report :Wayne Fox
• Report was read and approved

Trustee’s Report :
• The repeater cans are being heated by heating tapes.

ARES Report : Ron Burke
• Hospital net this Thursday at 9:30am on 147.570 MHz.
• Gordon Cotton talked about going to meet with the County L.E.P.C. group this Thursday to discuss this year’s S.E.T.
• Tom Hansen talked to the club about ARES training classes and a blood drive that will help to get some instructors for some of this year’s classes.

RACES Report : Bob Burns
• Turned in a report to the county EMA, a summary of RACES activities last year.

Old Business :
• The club won 1st place of the Hilltop event last year.
• Wayne Fox went over details of the Brownsburg Hamfest for this year and also talked about the Ham Radio training class on January 28th.

New Business :
• Some ideas were brought up for future discussions; special event station, field day, and a club picnic later this year.

Other Announcements :
• Janet McMahan KA9HCH wife of past club member John McMahan K9KVZ passed away on Dec.29,2014.
• Dennis Gilbey met with Paul Caranci, a new representative aide of Congressman Todd Rokita at the Danville office.

Special Report :
• Erik Cohee and Jason Jackson talked about putting together and operating a new amateur radio repeater in Danville. The repeater is on a frequency of 224.220 MHz.

Meeting closed : at 8:55 pm Dennis Gilbey made a motion to close the meeting, which was seconded by Erik Cohee.
