Meeting notes: July 8, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by President John Farmer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 21 members and 3 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :
• Minutes of the June report was read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :
• Wayne Fox presented the report. Expenses were ARRL Repeater Insurance bill of $46, and $84 went to purchase Field Day food.

Trustee’s Report :
• Harold Davis commented that he had enough ham volunteers to handle the Brownsburg Lions 4th of July parade.
• Also commented that the repeater is tuned up.

ARES Report :
• Ron Burke said that the ARES leadership is working on putting together this Winter season training classes 2013-2014. Anybody who would like to host or have an idea for this year’s classes should see him.
• The ARES staff would like to thank the club for allowing us to set-up and participate in this year’s Field Day. Had a couple of new hams sign up for ARES. Also had Charlie Delzotti KA7WDN, sell his radio gear at our tent. His health was the reason that he had to sell.

RACES Report :
• Bob Burns thanked everybody who helped in the Park2Park marathon.
• Bob Burns and Ron Burke are working on the RACES member list and thanked Ron for his help.
• State RACES Test net will require a little more involvement from the hams in each county.

Old Business :
• Wayne Fox read a report that he turned in to the ARRL of our Field Day points and results. There was a discussion about this report.

New Business :
• Bob Burns heard on the radio of a Thirteen Colony’s special event stations and Bob logged in all Thirteen Colony’s, but learned later of another one. He also mentioned about the antenna he used and mentioned different kinds of antennas.
• Dennis Gilbey made a motion to “Name the Hill” in Hendricks County which was seconded by John Farmer. Motion was carried.

Other Announcements :
• Mike Rollins read the list of requirements for this year’s Hilltop which will take place on September 28th, 8am till 12Noon.
• Jay Wright contacted the Hendricks County Flyer about the lack of reporters at our Field Day. Health issues were the reason he was told by the Flyer and that they would send out a letter of apology.
• Hamfest at Marion County Fairgrounds this Saturday, opens at 6am.

Special Report :
• Tom Hansen did a MOXON antenna presentation and display.

Meeting closed : at 8:39 pm Bob Thompson made a motion to close the meeting, which was seconded by Jay Wright.
