Meeting notes: February 11, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by President John Farmer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 17 members and 5 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :
• Minutes of the January report was read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :
• Wayne Fox presented the report. The expenses were the club bought a Dell computer projector for the Ham classes, the club’s annual insurance premium was paid.

Trustee’s Report :
• Harold Davis said that the heaters are working on the cans and some of the heat is flowing upwards to the rest of the repeater.

ARES Report :
• Ron Burke said that the hospital hams will be taking a one day training course entitled “ Ham radio Functional class.” This will be held on March 14th from the Lighthouse Readiness Group’s Hospital Preparedness Training Center in Plainfield. This class is only open to ham radio operators that are directly associated with a hospital. The Lighthouse Readiness Group will provide an introduction to emergency communication strategies and tactics that can be used by the Amateur radio operator who wants to serve in the hospital as part of the response team. There is no cost, and lunch will be provided.
• Harold’s solder class will be March 2nd.

RACES Report :
• Bob Burns announced the January 26 state RACES test had good inter county communications within District 5. Bob thanked Ron Burke, and Dave Leimenstoll for their assistance.
• March 9th will be the Weather Spotter class at 1pm here at the govt. center.
• Bob also mentioned some other dates and locations of counties around District 5 having Weather Spotter sessions.
• June 15th is the Park-to-park relay. Route has been shortened from previous year.

Old Business :
• Annual Fundraiser Report. February 16th Brownsburg hamfest. Wayne Fox stated that three commercial booth’s, and eight other booths have been sold. He also went through the ticket takers schedule for Saturday. The Ladies Auxiliary will provide breakfast and lunch. Set-up will be Friday starting at 2:30pm.

New Business :
• No report.
Other Announcements :
• Hamfest calendar: March 9th Wabash Valley in Terre Haute, Indiana, April 13th Columbus Indiana.
• Field day June 22-23.
• Dayton Hamvention ideas and comments.
• No Hill Top contest this year.
• Jay Wright commented that some of the ham class people have already taken their upgrade test and passed.

Special Report :
• No report.

Meeting closed : at 7:56 pm. Bob Burns made the motion to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Jay Wright.
