Meeting notes: January 14, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 7:03pm by Vice-President Dennis Gilbey followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 17 members and 4 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :
• Minutes of November’s report and the Christmas dinner was read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :
• Wayne Fox presented the report. The expenses from the Christmas dinner were $158.16 for Pizza, $18.75 for drinks, and $30.50 for salad. Other expenses were $67.36 for three Gordon West books. Sold two, have one left.

Trustee’s Report :
• Harold Davis commented that the repeater is winterized.

ARES Report :
• Ron Burke said that ARES membership has grown to 49 members with Mark Moeller KA9LWK being number 49.
• Winter training classes have begun with Bob Burns’s APRS class Feb.2nd.
• This Thursday at 9:30am will be our hospital test net.

RACES Report :
• Bob Burns announced the new antenna located at the H.C.C.C. was tested Dec 26th.
• Dates to put on the calendar… Jan 26th will be the Indiana State RACES test. Bob will have a check-in net around 8:30am. March 9th at 1pm will be the Severe Weather training. June 15th the Park-to-Park relay marathon. There has been some changes made for this year’s race, but they will need Amateur radio operators.

Old Business :
• John Farmer mentioned about the upcoming hamfest being a fundraiser for the club. The club will be in partnership with the American Legion and will split the door money.
• Wayne Fox commented that the Ladies of the Legion will take care of the food. Harold Davis will have a talk-in the day of the hamfest. Wayne also mentioned that he will need a cashier Noon til 2pm.
• Wayne talked about the upcoming ham classes that will start January 29th at 7-9pm. Testing on the 8th week if all goes well.

New Business :
• None

Special Report : Ron Burke and Wayne Fox showed a slide show presentation of last year’s Field day and the Indiana State Rodeo which included some emergency disaster vehicles from different parts of the state and cities.

Meeting closed : at 8:18pm. Bob Thompson made the motion to adjourn and was seconded by Bob Burns
