Meeting notes: March 12, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Club President John Farmer.
There were 16 members and 1 visitor in attendance.

• Minutes from February 2018 were read.

ARES Report : Ron Burke
• This Saturday March 17th, Monthly Hospital Net on 147.015 repeater at 10:30am.

Old Business :
• A discussion to modify the club’s repeater and to possibly add 70cm(440 MHz) was mentioned and tabled till next club meeting.

New Business :
• Hamfest 2018 discussion: The club received positive comments about the new location in Avon this year. The club thanked Bill Pfaffenberger for being liaison to have a place to host this year’s hamfest at the Avon United Methodist Church on such a short notice.
• Three club board officers visited the Hendricks County Fairgrounds last week. This was the result from some problems of the past hamfest with the American Legion in Brownsburg. Club Secretary Ron Burke gave the club some information from the Executive Director of the county fairgrounds, and went over a proposal about having the hamfest at the county fairgrounds. A motion from Marvin Cheek to book the 2019 and 2020 hamfest at the county fairgrounds and at next month’s club meeting, select and establish a hamfest committee to oversee these events. This motion was seconded by Bill Pfaffenberger. Motion passed unanimously.

• Bill Pfaffenberger made a motion for the club to donate $ 300 to the Avon Robotic Club, and donate $300 to the Hendricks County Senior Services Center for them allowing us the building to have our training classes and club dinner. Jay Wright seconded this motion. Motion passed with one abstain.

Other Announcements :
• Hilltop 2018 will have the same ham overseeing this event as last year.
• Possible radio interference on the club’s repeater.
• Rookie Roundup April 15th, 1-7pm.
• Skywarn Net on March 20th at 10:15 am on 147.165 repeater.

Meeting closed : At 9 pm Bruce Jones made a motion to close the meeting, which was seconded by Jay Wright.
