Meeting notes: January 9, 2012

The meeting was called to order at 7:04pm by Club President John Farmer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. He also thanked everyone for being here for the club’s first meeting of the year. There were 15 members and 5 guest in attendance.

Meeting notes: December 13, 2011

The annual HCARS Christmas party/ election of officers for the year 2012 was held at the Senior Services Center in Danville, IN. Pizza, salad, drinks, and snacks were provided by the club. 18 members and their guest were in attendance.

Dennis Gilbey started presenting the door prizes.

The dinner started at 6pm with the meeting at 7pm. Cub President John Farmer called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

John thanked Peggy McNary for being the Secretary of the club.

Meeting notes: November 14, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 7:04pm by Treasurer Wayne Fox KE9P followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. 13 members and 1 guest in attendance.

Secretary’s Report: There was no reading of the minutes.

Treasurer’s Report: Wayne Fox presented the report.

Trustee’s Report : Harold Davis said repeater is working fine, will have to tweak it soon and prep it for the winter season.

ARES Report :
• Ron Burke stated that Peggy McNary hosted November’s Simplex Net and that it will be the last one for the year.

Meeting notes: September 12, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Dennis Gilbey K9JZZ, Vice President, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

There were 20 members and friends in attendance.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: The minutes for the August meeting were read and approved as corrected.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Provided by Wayne Fox KE9P. The club received payment for manning the race buses for O’Reilly Raceway Park.

VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT: Dennis Gilbey is still accepting nominations for the IRCC’s Amateur of the Year award, until September 30th. Please email him with nominations at K9JZZ9@gmail.com.

Meeting notes: June 13, 2011

The Meeting was called to order by President John Farmer at 7:06 PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 17 members and friends present.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes were read and approved with one minor correction. (The “ice maker” referred to under OLD BUSINESS is actually a freezer. It does not make ice.)

Treasurer’s Report was provided by Wayne Fox KE9P.

Trustee’s Report: The tower site was mowed for the first time last month and will need to be mowed again soon. No problems with the repeater have been reported or anticipated.

ARES Report:

Meeting notes: May 9, 2011

The May meeting of the Hendricks County Amateur Radio Society was called to order at 7:08 PM by President John Farmer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 17 members present.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes for the April meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report was provided by Wayne Fox KE9P. Wayne reported that the ARRL is changing insurance carriers. We can stay with our old company, if desired. Our policy is valid until next spring.

Meeting notes: April 11, 2011

The April meeting of the Hendricks County Amateur Radio Society was called to order by President John Farmer at 7:00 PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 18 members present.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes for the March meeting were read and approved as corrected (by adding the date [April 10, 2011] to the ARES training session on message handling).

Meeting notes: March 14, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 7:08 PM by President John Farmer N9CQ. Fourteen persons were present.

The minutes for the January and February meetings were read and approved.

Treasurer’s report was given by Wayne Fox KE9P.

VP Dennis Gilbey K9JZZ reported a phone number and local news report of how to become a “destination expert” for Hendricks County tourism.

Jay Wright KK9L indicated that the repeater needs to be checked if recent problems are caused by freezing temperatures.

OLD BUSINESS:

Meeting notes: February 14, 2011

The meeting was called to order by President John Farmer at 7:00 PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Treasurer’s report was given with the same numbers as last month.

There was no Secretary’s report due to her absence.

Jay Wright gave a repeater report. The heaters were plugged in (not previously done). The repeater was tuned slightly. Jay left the repeater site due to impending icy weather.

Meeting notes: January 10, 2011

The meeting was called to order by Wayne Fox at 7:00 PM. (President John Farmer and Vice President Dennis Gilbey were absent due to job and family responsibilities.) There were 17 members present.

Treasurer’s report was provided by Wayne Fox KE9P.

Repeater report (Harold Davis, Trustee):
There was some work done on the repeater. Due to complaints, the repeater was checked. SWR was higher than expected. Tune-up was done. All is well now.
