HCARS Regular Meetings

Regular meetings of the Hendricks County Amateur Radio Society are held the second Monday of the month at 7:00pm at the Hendricks County Government Center in Danville.

Everyone is welcome!

Meeting notes: July 10, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Club President John Farmer
. There were 19 members and 2 visitors in attendance.

ARES Report : Ron Burke
• Monthly hospital net on July 15
• Membership meeting on July 19, at 7 pm at the HCSSC.
• Will need some help in amateur radio at the event “Play’nfield in the Park hosted by the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce.
• Tailgate fest, August 12, 2017 at the American Legion Post 118 in Danville.

. There were 18 members and 4 visitors in attendance.

• Monthly hospital net on June 17
• Membership meeting on June 21, 7 pm at the HCSSC.
• Will be attending Field Day 2017.

New Business :
• 2017 Hilltop date is September 16th.
• July 4th Parade in Brownsburg has moved the location of the starting line-up for this year.
• 2017 Field Day discussion.

The meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm by Club President John Farmer.
There were 23 members and 5 visitors in attendance.

• Minutes from April were read.

• No Expenses for April. $ 570 came from contributions from the Harold Davis K9PZ memorial fund.

Trustee Tech. Committee Report :
• New YAESU Fusion repeater came in and is ready for back-up use.

• Monthly hospital net on May 20.
• Membership meeting on May 17, 7 pm at the HCSSC.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Club President John Farmer.
There were 22 members and 3 visitors in attendance.

• Minutes from February and March were read due to the special club program in March.

• Ordered a new Yaesu Fusion repeater.

Trustee Tech. Committee Report :
• Extended the tail squelch of the club’s repeater.

• Installed the club’s new Yaesu Fusion Repeater.

• NVIS event April 22. Maybe the club would sponsor a part of the event of checking antennas.

. There were 20 members and 4 visitors in attendance.

• Minutes from January were read and approved with one amendment of having the wrong date for the start of the Ham training class.

• No hospital net this month, next one will resume March 18.

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by Club Vice President Mike Rollins. There were 21 members and 2 visitors in attendance.

• Minutes from November and the Club’s Christmas business meeting were read and approved.

• The club’s new Yaesu Fusion repeater has been updated.

• Hospital Net to resume this year on the third Saturday of every month at 10:30am. This month it will be January 21. Frequency is: 147.570 MHz.

Meeting notes: December 10, 2016

The annual HCARS Christmas dinner and election of officers for the year 2017 was held at the Hendricks County Senior Services Building in Danville, IN. Chicken, Mashed potatoes, Green beans, dessert, and drinks, were provided by the club. 31 total in attendance with 23 members.

The dinner started at 6pm with the meeting at 7:20pm. Club President John Farmer called the meeting to order.

Since there were two candidates running for Vice President this time, a paper ballot was used.
