HCARS is a family of amateur radio operators dedicated to helping others. This is especially true during natural disasters or other emergencies. Many of our members are affiliated with ARES, RACES, and Skywarn. The club owns and maintains the 147.015 MHz repeater located near Belleville, Indiana. The club call sign is N9HC.

Amateur Radio Classes

The Hendricks County Amateur Radio Society will be conducting amateur radio license classes every Wednesday starting January 27, 2016, and running for eight to ten weeks, depending on "snow days" and the pace of the students' learning. Classes will be held from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Hendricks County Senior Services Center, 1201 Sycamore Ln, Danville IN 46122.

A volunteer examiner FCC license testing session will be conducted on the last day of class.

Meeting Notes: January 11, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by President John Farmer. There were 21 members and 5 visitors in attendance.
* V.P. Mike Rollins took over after the introductions.
* John Farmer made a motion to hold the club meeting until after the special presentation by the Avon Robotic club. Dave Leimenstoll seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Meeting Notes: December 12, 2015

The annual HCARS Christmas dinner and election of officers for the year 2016 was held at the Hendricks County Senior Services Building in Danville, IN. Pizza, salad, and drinks, were provided by the club. 36 total in attendance with 22 members.

The dinner started at 6pm with the meeting at 7:30pm. Club President John Farmer called the meeting to order.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by President John Farmer. There were 24 members and 2 visitors in attendance.

• No expenses for the current month.

• The repeater is working fine.
• Made a “Hat” to cover the top of the repeater from a leaky roof. This hat is made out of aluminum.

• No more hospital nets until the first of the year 2016.
