HCARS is a family of amateur radio operators dedicated to helping others. This is especially true during natural disasters or other emergencies. Many of our members are affiliated with ARES, RACES, and Skywarn. The club owns and maintains the 147.015 MHz repeater located near Belleville, Indiana. The club call sign is N9HC.

IRC Hilltop Operating Event

HCARS will be participating in The Hilltop Contest this year on September 24th.

The location is: 2333 State Road 236

Hours for the event will be: 9a-1p, you will need to be at the site a little early to help the set-up of the radio equipment.

2016 Christmas Party and Year-End Meeting

The 2016 HCARS Christmas Party will be Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 6:00 PM at the Hendricks County Senior Center, 1201 Sycamore Ln, in Danville. Please plan on attending.

Also on the docket for that evening will be officer elections for 2017.

October 10 meeting location

The October 10, 2016, HCARS club meeting will be held at the Gordon Graham Airport located on CR 300 E just south of US 36. Meeting time is 7:00 pm.

The meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm by Club Vice-President Mike Rollins. There were 18 members and 4 visitors in attendance.

• Hendricks Regional hospital moved their amateur radio station, however when a SWR check was done, there’s a short near the antenna.
