HCARS is a family of amateur radio operators dedicated to helping others. This is especially true during natural disasters or other emergencies. Many of our members are affiliated with ARES, RACES, and SATERN. The club owns and maintains the 147.015 repeater located near Belleville, Indiana. The club call sign is N9HC. HCARS is a member of the Indiana Radio Club Council, Inc.

Regular meetings of the Hendricks County Amateur Radio Society are held the second Monday of the month at 7:00pm at the Hendricks County Government Center in Danville.

Meeting notes: March 10, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 7:02pm. There were 22 members and 4 visitors in attendance.

Secretary’s Report :
• Minutes of the February report was read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :
• Report for March was read.

Trustee’s Report :
• Repeater is working fine.

ARES Report :
• No Report

RACES Report :
• The Park to Park Relay will be June 14th. An e-mail listing will be sent out for sign-up.

Old Business :
• Two hams from Hendricks County who participated in the Hilltop Event last year that did not get a certificate, will be getting a certificate soon.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by President John Farmer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 20 members and 3 visitors in attendance.

• Minutes of the January report was read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report :
• Wayne Fox presented the report. Expenses this month, ARRL insurance for the club $200, bought another Dell projector $319, bought from the Hendricks County ARES, Kenwood TS-430S HF transceiver, and a MFJ 949E Tuner for $250.

The Hendricks County Amateur Radio Society Christmas Dinner / Meeting Dec.3.2013

The annual HCARS Christmas dinner and election of officers for the year 2014 was held at the Hendricks County Senior Services Building in Danville, IN. Pizza, salad, drinks, and snacks were provided by the club. 22 members and some spouse’s, families were in attendance.

The dinner started at 6pm with the meeting at 7:10pm. Cub President John Farmer called the meeting to order.

The meeting (which was held at the Hendricks County Airport) was called to order at 7:00pm by President John Farmer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 16 members and 1 visitor in attendance.

• Minutes of the October report was read and approved. Dennis Gilbey made the motion to accept the minutes as given.

Treasurer’s Report :
• Wayne Fox presented the report. Expenses were $5.50 for snacks from the Pilot’s Lounge at the Hendricks County Airport during the October’s club meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by President John Farmer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 23 members and 4 visitors in attendance.

• Minutes of the September report was read and approved. Dennis Gilbey made the motion to accept the minutes as given.

Treasurer’s Report :
• Wayne Fox presented the report. Expenses were $100 for the deposit money to our hamfest at the Brownsburg American Legion.
